Joan joined Nature Communications in May 2020. He pursued his PhD in chemistry at University of Girona, where he worked with bioinspired metal complexes for oxygen activation and hydrocarbon oxidation. During that period, he was also a visiting student at University of Minnesota. He continued his research as a Marie S. Curie fellow at University of Basel, where he focused on developing artificial metalloenzymes. He handles manuscripts in the field of inorganic chemistry, including coordination compounds and organometallics, as well as supramolecular chemistry. Joan is based in the Berlin office.
