About Xiangming He

Prof. Xiangming He, director of New Energy and Materials Chemistry Division, Institute of Nuclear and New Energy, Tsinghua University, has focused on the fundamental science, key materials, and engineering of lithium-ion batteries for nearly 30 years. His research focused on the key performance of lithium-ion battery, such as electrochemical performance, cell consistency, safety, and reliability. Taking materials chemistry as the core and through multi-disciplinary collaborative innovation, his group addressed the problems from cell materials, cell design, manufacturing technology, and battery test/evaluation technologies. More than 500 invention patents have been authorized. He has authored several books such as “Large-scale production technology of lithium-ion battery cathode materials”, “Polymer performance and structure”, “Safety analysis and design of electric vehicle power battery system”, “Design manual of lithium-ion battery module”, etc. He is good at teaching students according to their aptitude and growing with them. He has trained many outstanding doctoral/master thesis winners of Tsinghua University. He maintained long-term academic cooperation with many internationally renowned universities/laboratories.  More than 600 papers have been published in J. Power Sources, Electrochim Acta, J. Electrochem. Soc, Nat. Commu., Joule, Adv. Mater., Adv. Energy Mater., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew Chem, ACS Energy Lett, Energy & Environmental Materials, Energy Stor.
