Prof. Xiangming He, director of New Energy and Materials Chemistry Division, Institute of Nuclear and New Energy, Tsinghua University, has focused on the fundamental science, key materials, and engineering of lithium-ion batteries for nearly 30 years. His research focused on the key performance of lithium-ion battery, such as electrochemical performance, cell consistency, safety, and reliability. Taking materials chemistry as the core and through multi-disciplinary collaborative innovation, his group addressed the problems from cell materials, cell design, manufacturing technology, and battery test/evaluation technologies. More than 500 invention patents have been authorized. He has authored several books such as “Large-scale production technology of lithium-ion battery cathode materials”, “Polymer performance and structure”, “Safety analysis and design of electric vehicle power battery system”, “Design manual of lithium-ion battery module”, etc. He is good at teaching students according to their aptitude and growing with them. He has trained many outstanding doctoral/master thesis winners of Tsinghua University. He maintained long-term academic cooperation with many internationally renowned universities/laboratories.  More than 600 papers have been published in J. Power Sources, Electrochim Acta, J.
